On 27th June 2025, the team at DLP on the Isle of Man successfully fundraised £213.93 for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital Trust in Liverpool through organising an office Cake Sale.
Colleagues from across the company were encouraged to donate cake or cash to the cause, with additional funds raised through guessing how many sweets were in a jar, in which the keen eyes of Engineering Director Yanchun reigned victorious!
Alder Hey is ranked in the top 20 best specialised paediatric hospitals in the world and cares for over 450,000 children and young people every year.
In December 2023, AKW held a Festive Bake Off in aid of Acorns Children’s Hospice in Worcester. Colleagues were invited to bring in their best homemade bakes which were then judged blindly by peers who donated to sample the treats on offer. Over £130 was raised with winners celebrated across the business for their savvy cooking skills.
So much fun was had by all, that a Spring Bake Off was then held in May 2024 in aid of Dementia UK‘s annual ‘Time for a Cuppa’ campaign, with £174 was raised.
AKW’s third seasonal Bake Off took place in May 2025 with another ten star bakers showcasing their expertise, and £203 generously raised for Dementia UK – our highest total yet!
The Macmillan Coffee Morning is held annually at the end of September with AKW and DLP both big supporters of the campaign, often encouraging colleagues to dress down in the office in order to raise even more money in aid of the charity.
For four years running, colleagues across the business have baked or bought delicious treats, and taken time out of their busy work day to chat with peers over a coffee and slice of cake, all while raising money for a fantastic cause.
Over £1,842 has been raised since 2022, vital funds which will continue to make a difference for those living with and affected by cancer.
