AKW’s stationery supplier, Lyreco, minimise waste where they can and have already achieved zero-waste-to-landfill targets across 100% of their sites; they’ve also reduced fleet carbon emissions by 32% between 2013-21, and 99% of the electricity used to run their sites is certified as renewable or supplied from renewable sources.

Lyreco are also committed to promoting diversity in the workplace with 33% of employees and 25% of the senior management team women, and 3.7% of employees black, Asian or from other ethnic minorities.

100% Recycled Cardboard

Lyreco use 100% recycled cardboard from their Telford distribution centre to facilitate deliveries, with packaging being reduced wherever possible

4,250+ Sustainable Products

Over 4,250 products meet Sustainable Selection by Lyreco criteria, with 45% of products launched in 2023 classed as sustainable

62% of Waste Generated Reused

Lyreco are expanding their range of reuse and recycle services with 62% of waste that they generate reused in other capacities

67 Electric Vans Operated

67 electric vans are operated by Lyreco - 21% of their vehicle fleet in the UK, contributing to ongoing reduction of carbon emissions

8 Mental Health First Aiders

Lyreco have trained 8 Mental Health First Aiders since 2019 with plans to increase this number in the future

£300,000 Donated

Since 2018, Lyreco have given £300,000 to a social enterprise supporting mentally and physically disabled people get back into work

Generating Green Energy

In 2021, Lyreco generated 2.8 million kWh of green energy from 13,860 solar panels
